After a game that the Giants wish they could take back, they look to take out their frustration on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Many players have come forward and said that they were disgusted with the way that they played last week. One player looking to help make an impact tomorrow is defensive tackle Marvin Austin who has not played in years. The Giants would love to have him play since they only have Linval Joseph, Rocky Bernard, and rookie Markus Kuhn at the position currently. This may help bring back the impressive pass rush that the Giants have become known for. Victor Cruz had a night he probably does not want to remember, but he will have much more on his mind than his poor performance. Cruz lost his grandmother this week and was excused from yesterday's practice. He is expected to play. Hakeem Nicks is listed as questionable, but will most likely play. Linebacker Keith Rivers who has done nothing but impress this year, will not play and Michael Boley will start in his place. Rivers is nursing a hamstring issue and Boley says that his hamstring issue is completely fine now. Boley had a big interception last week. One of the only highlights from the game. The Giants are nowhere near ready to pull the panic button as they started last season 0-1 and went on a magical ride to the Super Bowl. Slow starts are normal for the Giants. “In my 10 years, it seems like every year it’s been something like this,” said Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora. “So there’s no panic. We’re all right.” I expect the defensive line to play a much bigger role in this game, but it will not be easy as they oppose Josh Freeman. However, I think they got the job done and of course Eli will have another big game as he seems to always do.
