Last night officially ended another preseason. The game was not all too exciting, but at least the Giants can officially say that they have beat the Patriots in the preseason, regular season, and the postseason. However, everyone has their eyes on next week's season opener. No one more so than the notorious defensive line. After sitting out last night, the players seemed pretty fired up. After the game, Justin Tuck sent out a tweet, "The Dallas Cowboys now have my full attention." After Mathias Kiwanuka heard about Jerry Jones comments that everyone should come watch the Cowboys "beat the Giants asses", he had his own choice words for the owner. "He should,” Kiwanuka said in an interview on WFAN on Thursday morning. “I mean, the Giants have been whupping his ass for a long time.” Kiwi went on to say that everyone is after the Giants this year after what they accomplished last season. “It’s got to be tough on the outside looking in on all of these championships lately,” Kiwanuka said. "That's the feeling I feel like everybody in the league has, and what they should have, because when you're on top and everybody should be wanting to knock you off.” Sounds like the Giants veterans are up for the challenge of defending their title with targets on their back. Quarterbacks should be wary of this insatiable defense who seem to always put immense pressure on the opposing quarterback.
Meanwhile, Coach Coughlin and the rest of the Giants' coaches have the hard task of trimming the roster down even further. After last night, it seems that Ojomo is in the running for the vacant fourth defensive end spot after frontrunner Adrian Tracy was hurt. Ojomo had a strip sack late in last night's game. The rest of the available roster spots could go any way. All players have seemed to try and impress in the preseason. Ramses Barden and Andre Brown look like they might have secured two of those spots after another impressive game for both of them.
